The Poplar Pike Playhouse will step-ball-change its way into audiences’ hearts this spring with its sure-to-be dazzling upcoming production of 42nd Street. The PPP players are putting on their dancing shoes for this hoofing extravaganza, overflowing with exhilarating tap numbers, snappy dialogue, and timeless tunes. This Tony Award-winning show and long running Broadway production opens on the PPP stage May 3rd and will run through May 19th.
42nd Street tells the story of a small-town girl with big-time aspirations. When Peggy Sawyer breaks onto Broadway as a chorus girl, she doesn’t realize just how far her knack for shuffling and solos will take her. Legendary director Julian Marsh takes a liking to Peggy and, as fate would have it, when the leading lady is unable to go on... well, you’ll have to see the rest for yourself. 42nd Street will keep audiences tapping their toes to familiar tunes like “Lullaby of Broadway” and “We’re in the Money.” With enough eccentric characters, flashy chorus lines, and twisted love triangles to keep any theatre-goer engaged, this mega-musical sensation holds the promise to be another astounding PPP smash hit!

Heinz, Paris Higgins, Jon Hoag, Jarrett Holley, Phylicia Hollis, Michael Horton, Jesse Jones, Johnnalee Kutzke, Meredith Lesley, Erika Maclin, Kindy McCorvey, Cooper McKelroy, Brittany Mickens, Archie Mitchell, Joshua Moore, Kelsey Muskin, Patrick Nugent, Emily Pilkington, Jocelynn Ramiah, Courtney Sessum, Reagan Shockley, Jonathan Smith, Jacob Strong, Tucker Wade, Patrick Warren, and Brandon Winfrey.
The show is directed by E. Frank Bluestein and Steve Danielson with choreography by Elizabeth Anne Brown. Lanny Byrd is the musical conductor.
Tickets are on sale now at the Poplar Pike Playhouse Box Office and online at www.ppp.org. The show opens at the PPP May 3rd and runs through May 19th.
