The Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast, comes to the Poplar Pike Playhouse this spring. This Tony Award winning production, which has enchanted audiences worldwide, casts its spell on the PPP from May 1 through May 17.
Based on Disney’s Academy Award winning animated film, the stage version of Beauty and the Beast tells the story of the winsome Belle and her ferocious captor. The 1991 Disney movie became the first animated film nominated for Best Picture. In New York, the Broadway production played to over 5,000 sold-out houses and went on to become the sixth longest running Broadway musical of all time. Filled with lovable characters, beautiful tunes and enchanting sets and costumes, this “tale as old as time” is sure to be another PPP standing-room-only hit.
The PPP cast of Beauty and the Beast includes Madeline Brinkley, Wade Bonds, Jared Brooks, Brandon Crouch, Dominique Duarte, Kyle Dutton, Hamid Farzam, Brittany Flaherty, Shay Gilbert, Chris Hanford, Kristina Hanford, Monica Hankins, Justin Harrison, A.J. Heinz, Paris Higgins, Jarrett Holley, Paul Hoover, Michael Horton, Johnnalee Kutzke, Meredith Lesley, Erika Maclin, Julie Marshall, Cooper McKelroy, Faith Metcalf, Joshua Moore, Jocelynn Ramiah, Brandon Reid, Robert Reid, Natorria Ross, Courtney Sessum, Anna Sharp, Matthew Sloan, Jonathan Smith, Jacob Strong, Quinton Thompson and Brandon Winfrey.
The show is directed by E. Frank Bluestein and Amy Hanford. Steven Danielson is the musical director and Brook Dickerson is the choreographer. Lanny Byrd is the musical conductor.
