Murders, Madness and Mayhem at the Poplar Pike Playhouse!
Curtain up! Light the lights! It's time for murder! The Poplar
Pike Playhouse's new theatrical season is so good it's a crime!
And the first culprit, John Bishop's play The Musical Comedy
Murders of 1940. The show opens December 2nd and runs
through December 11th. Set in ritzy Westchester County,
New York, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 stages a
wacky whodunit mystery for all ages. When ten theatre types
gather together to audition for a new Broadway musical, a
blizzard traps them in a luxurious mansion. The one hitch?
There is a killer on the loose in the house just waiting to
put a little twist in the limelight! With sliding panels, secret
passages, and a German maid who apparently has more lives
than one, accusing fingers point in all directions in this drop
dead comedy! The Village Voice calls it, nakedly silly and
relentlessly convoluted murder-mystery plot, with twist piled
on twist till you have to give way and start laughing at the
silliness, it's hugely enjoyable. The cast for The Musical
Comedy Murders of 1940 includes Cara Austin, Vicki
Beall, Boomer Brigman, Daniel Gomez, Eula Hinds, Jeffrey
Ingram, Courtney Mickens, Stephanie Shotwell, Ryan Sweeney
and Anthony White. Leonid Mazor directs The Musical
Comedy Murders of 1940. Ashleigh Siegfried-Williams is the
associate director. The scenic designer is Mary K. VanGieson.
The costume designer is Casey Smith, and the graphic designer
is Amy Hagan. Lynette Gilbert is the scenic artist, Ernest
Newbern is the makeup designer, and the properties designer
is Shirley Evans. Joseph Haslwanter and Jack House are the
technical directors. Allison Rogers is the properties coordinator.

Hair and Andy Johnson are the set coordinators. The business

director. The corporate sponsor for this production is Germantown
