  • Germantown High School's International Thespian Troupe #912 recently elected new officers for the current school year. The organization is an honor society for those students who excel in theatre arts activities.
      

The current Thespian Troupe #912 officers for 2010 - 2011 are:

President
Paul Hoover

Senior Paul Hoover is beginning his fourth year at the Poplar Pike Playhouse. He has appeared in shows such as Beauty and the Beast, The Beaux' Stratagem, Curtains, The Fantasticks, and Parade. He also serves as President of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Paul was a playwright for the original children's plays The Chronicles of Sleeping Beauty and Jonas: A Cinderella Story. Recently, Paul was nominated for Best Actor at the Orpheum High School Music Theatre Awards. Paul enjoys football, basketball, and Broadway musicals.

1st Vice President
Remy Terle

Senior Remy Terle has had a major impact on the PPP over the past three years. He has appeared onstage in The Beaux' Stratagem, Curtains, The Fantasticks, Parade, and the original children's plays The Chronicles of Sleeping Beauty and Jonas: A Cinderella Story. Remy serves as a Publicity Director for the Poplar Pike Playhouse.

2nd Vice President
Melanie Culhane

For the past two years, junior Melanie Culhane has been an important player at the Poplar Pike Playhouse. She has had lead roles in Curtains, The Fantasticks, Parade, and the original children's play Jonas: A Cinderella Story. She is a member of the GHS Chamber Choir, an assistant Advertising Director at the PPP, and Treasurer of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Melanie's favorite musicians include Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga, and Ludwig von Beethoven.

Recording Secretary
Allison Whitmore

Recipient of the 2009 Seth Matthew Rowan Sophomore Achievement Award, senior Allison Whitmore is an important factor in the PPP equation. As a freshman, she served as the secretary for Beauty and the Beast. Since then, she has been the Assistant Stage Manager for The Beaux' Stratagem and Curtains as well as the Stage Manager for The Fantasticks and Parade. Allison also is the Box Office chairman for the PPP and Tape Librarian at GHS-TV.

Ciara McCall

Senior Ciara McCall has contributed many hours to the PPP. Ciara served as box office manager for The Chronicles of Sleeping Beauty, Curtains, The Fantasticks, and Parade. Ciara participated in the English Lovers Improv Workshop and serves as an access producer for GHS-TV.

Treasurer
Andre McGowan

Senior Andre McGowan began his PPP career as a tree in Beauty and the Beast. Since then, he has grown into roles such as Properties Chairman for The Fantasticks, Parade, and the original children's play Jonas: A Cinderella Story. Andre also appeared onstage in Curtains as well as the English Lover's Improv Workshop.

Historian
Breana Miller

Senior Breana Miller been a big help to the Poplar Pike Playhouse for the past 3 years. Previously she has served on the backstage crew for Beauty and the Beast, and she was Assistant Properties Chairman for The Beaux' Stratagem and Curtains and Properties Chairman for The Fantasticks and Parade. Breana is also a founding member of the Germantown High School Book Club.

Historian
Grace Pandola

Senior Grace Pandola has been working hard at the Poplar Pike Playhouse for three years. She has appeared in shows at the PPP such as The Beaux' Stratagem, Curtains, Parade, and the original children's play Jonas: A Cinderella Story. Grace is the Publicity Director for the PPP and also a member of the Tennesse State Thespian Executive Board.

Publicity Officer
Anna Smith

Junior Anna Smith is a major player for the PPP Team. Anna has appeared onstage in Curtains, Parade, and the original children's play Jonas: A Cinderella Story. She is an assistant publicity director, coupon book chairman, a member of National Forensic League, and Publicity Officer for Thespian Troupe #912.

Special Events Officer
Wade Bonds

Senior Wade Bonds has been with the Poplar Pike Playhouse since his freshman year, when he appeared onstage in Beauty and the Beast. He has also appeared in Curtains and Parade. He served as an usher in The Fantasticks and on the backstage crew for The Beaux' Stratagem. He is the Advertising Director for the Poplar Pike Playhouse and Special Events officer for Thespian Troupe #912.

Special Events Officer
Joe Carter

Junior Joe Carter made his Poplar Pike Playhouse debut in Curtans and was most recently seen as Newt Lee in Parade. He also served as an usher for The Fantasticks. At GHS-TV, Joe has worked on several access shows and was the producer of Let's Talk Money. In his spare time, Joe enjoys singing and playing with his dog, Cujo.

Special Events Officer
Matt Sloan

Senior Matt Sloan has been involved with Thespian Troupe #912 since his 6th Grade year, when he performed in the children's ensemble of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Since then, he has performed in Ragtime, Beauty and the Beast, The Beaux' Stratagem, Curtains, and Parade. Matt is also the General Manager of GHS-TV, Publications Director for the PPP, and a Tiger basketball fan.
